The Lotus Seven is a British lightweight roadster sports car that was first presented to the public in 1957. Its serial production started in the same year and continued until 1970 - it was concentrated mainly in Hethel in Great Britain.
Lotus Seven was developed and put into production in order to expand the brand's commercial offer and fill a market niche. Its constructor was the legendary Colin Chapman, who gained a lot of fame as a Formula 1 car constructor and who is also the founder of the company. The Lotus Seven was a vehicle with a very simple structure, easy to drive and repair, as well as with relatively low operating costs. The heart of this unusual car was the Ford Sidevalve engine with a capacity of 1.2 liters and 40 HP. Interestingly, the Lotus Seven was offered both as a assembled car and in kits for self-assembly. Four generations of the Lotus Seven were created in the course of production.
