The Mayflower was an English fluita, or a type of sailing merchant ship, dating back to the early 17th century. The vessel was probably launched before 1609, and one of its owners was Cristopher Jones. The Mayflower probably had about 180-200 tons of displacement with a length of about 25-30 meters. The unit probably did not have permanent artillery armament.

The Mayflower became famous for its voyage between the city of Plymouth in England and today's Plymouth in the United States between September and November 1620. About 100 so-called Pilgrims, i.e. followers of Puritanism (one of the factions of the Anglican Church with visible influence of Calvinism), persecuted in their homeland. To avoid them, they decided to go to the New World and start - however pathetic it sounds - a completely new life, in accordance with their religious and ethical principles. Equally important, before disembarking, all male participants of the expedition wrote down the so-called The Mayflower Compact, which is sometimes considered the first-ever written social contract and the ideological basis for the later US Constitution, although, of course, there are ongoing disputes on this matter among researchers of the subject. However, the fate of the Mayflower itself is not entirely clear. He almost certainly returned to England in 1621, and may have been decommissioned between 1622 and 1624. It is worth adding that in 1956 a replica of the Mayflower was built.
