Type 22 is the name for the class of modern Chinese rocket boats. Units of this type have been entered into service in the PRC Navy since 2004. At present (2018), 83 units of this type remain in active service. Class 22 ships are 42.6 meters long and 12.2 meters wide. The displacement is around 220 tons and the maximum speed is around 36 knots. The armament of this type of vessel includes: 8 C-801, 802 or 803 anti-ship missiles, a single, licensed AK-630 set and - probably - the QW-1 manual air defense system.

Class 22 boats (other terms: Houbei class) were constructed to supplement and partially replace the type 037 corvettes and the C-14 type cutters in the line. Compared to their predecessors, the Type 22 boats have richer electronic equipment, clearly reinforced anti-ship armament, and most importantly - I use the achievements of stealth technology on a large scale. Ships of this type also have a two-hull structure - in the catamaran arrangement. Type 22 boats are intended for coastal operations, and their main purpose is to combat enemy surface vessels. The ability to combat underwater targets and anti-aircraft defense is quite clearly limited. At the moment - almost certainly - all Class 22 missile boats are in active service.
