2P16 Łuna is a self-propelled tactical missile launcher included in the 2K6 Łuna system from the Soviet Cold War era. The curb weight of the 2K6 Łuna system, i.e. the launcher with the 3R9 missile, was approximately 17,200 kilograms. The maximum speed in the field was up to 18 km / h, and on the road - up to 40 km / h. The drive was provided by a single 240 HP engine. The length of the car's hull was about 6.9 meters, with a width of about 3.1 meters.

The 2K6 system was developed primarily for the needs of the Soviet Army as a development of the 2K1 Mars missile. Work on the new system was initiated in 1953, and the first field trials took place in 1958. In the period 1959-1961, the system entered production and service in the Soviet Army. It is worth adding that it was also used relatively quickly by several other Warsaw Pact countries. For example, he entered service in the Polish People's Army in 1962. The 2K6 system was based on the chassis of the PT-76 floating tank, which significantly accelerated the development of the entire structure. It is worth noting that the launcher could fire 3R9 missiles with a conventional warhead and 3R10 missiles with a 10 kT tactical nuclear warhead. The maximum range was from about 32 to about 45 kilometers.
