The AT-T is a Soviet (Russian) heavy, tracked artillery tractor from the post-war period. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in the early 1950s. The vehicle was powered by a single 415 HP diesel engine.
AT-T was developed for the use of the Soviet Army, specifically its units using heavy towed artillery. In order to shorten the time of research and development works, many components and elements from other, already used, Soviet armored vehicles were used in the construction of the AT-T. The entire suspension, chassis and hull were taken from the T-54 tank, while the driver's cabin and the crew compartment were based on those of the ZIS-150 and ZIL-164 trucks. On the basis of the AT-T tractor, several specialized vehicles were created, such as: BTM-3 (excavator used to quickly create trenches), MDK-2M (sapper and engineering vehicle) or P-40 (mobile radar).
