Panzertriebwagen Nr. 16 (PT 16 in short) is a German heavy armored train from the Second World War. The train was manufactured at Berlin Maschinenbau-Gesellschaft Schwartzkopff in 1942. Only one copy of this train was built. The propulsion was a single 550hp diesel engine, initially armed with two 20mm FlaK 38 anti-aircraft guns, but later replaced with captured Soviet 76.2mm FK295 cannons. The Panzertriebwagen Nr. 16 was constructed on the basis of the WR 550 D14 locomotive, with much thicker armor (from 31 to 84 mm) and additional armament at the front and end of the vehicle. The train was used most often for independent patrolling of railway lines in the occupied territories on the Eastern Front. He entered service in 1943, and a year later, in the spring and summer, he served with the Center Army. He took part in the fighting in the area of Rawa Ruska and Lublin. In the second half of 1944, he patrolled the railway lines between Kraków and Radom. The train was eliminated from the fight on May 1 or 2, 1945 during the Berlin operation.
