The BR 57 is a series of armored steam locomotives (steam locomotives) that were produced during World War II. Its maximum speed did not exceed 55-60 km / h. It was originally adapted to a track gauge of 1,435 millimeters. The locomotive in Whyte notation had a 0-10-0 layout. The presented steam locomotive was structurally based on the G10 series locomotives produced in the period 1910-1925, and which in turn were based on the T 16 and T 8 series locomotives. German. On the other hand, they could also be used on additional and local lines. The presented BR 57 locomotive was created by modifying the G10 steam locomotives, and the main change was to add armor plates protecting, first of all, the cabin and the steam locomotive's boiler. Of course, this led to an increase in the weight of the locomotive and a reduction in its maximum speed. At the same time, however, its resistance to small arms fire has significantly increased.
