The Hummer H1 is a modern off-road civilian passenger car that was presented to the public for the first time in 1992. Its serial production started in the same year. The car is powered by an 8-cylinder engine with a capacity of 5.5 to 6.6 liters. The car is approximately 469 cm long and 220 cm wide. Production took place, among others, in the city of Mishawaka in the United States.

The Hummer H1 is a civilian version of the HMMWV military all-terrain vehicle, popularly known as the Humwee. Due to a large number of inquiries from individual customers, the General Motors concern decided to introduce the Hummer brand to the American automotive market. Compared to its military version, the Hummer H1 has similar dimensions, very similar off-road characteristics and - in the initial production batches - the same engine. It differs in the possibility of choosing one of the three body versions (Wagon, Hard Top and Soft Top), as well as the equipment - especially in the field of safety. The H2 model was presented in 2002, and it went on sale a year later. It offers a choice of a power unit from a wider range of engines, a new design and richer equipment.
