The AT-S was a Soviet, tracked artillery tractor from the Cold War period. The first prototypes of the car appeared in the late 1940s, and the vehicle entered the line in the early 1950s. The length of the tractor was 6.3 meters and a width of 2.8 meters. The maximum speed was up to 35 km / h. By default, no weapons were mounted on it. The AT-S was developed and put into production as a medium artillery tractor, intended primarily for towing 100 mm KS-19 anti-aircraft guns and 152 mm field howitzers. The vehicle could tow weapons weighing up to 16 tons, and the load itself could carry a load of up to 3 tons. Although the AT-S was generally a rather successful design, it was relatively quickly replaced by the even more perfect ATS-59 tractor. The AT-S tractor was widely exported to the Warsaw Pact countries, but also to other allies of the USSR, such as Egypt, Syria and Yugoslavia.
