The Diamond DA42 Twin Star is a modern, light training and transport aircraft in the low wing configuration. The prototype flight took place in December 2002, and serial production started two years later - in 2004. In the basic version, the length of the aircraft is 8.56 meters with a wingspan of 13.42 meters. The drive is provided by two Austro engines with a power of 168 HP each. The maximum range of the machine is approximately 1700 kilometers, with a maximum speed of 356 km / h.
The DA42 Twin Star aircraft was developed at an aviation plant Diamond Aircraft Industries which are located in Austria, but are currently owned by Chinese economic operators. The DA42 plane is in fact a very far-reaching development of the DA40 model from the same company, and compared to its predecessor it differs primarily in the number of engines, but also in the shape of the tail, beak and sizes. It also has significantly better performance. Until now, several versions of the machine have been created Diamond DA42 Twin Star, including: DA42 L360 (version with Lycoming engines), DA42 NG (version with more powerful engines) or DA42-VI (version with improved aerodynamic properties).
