MiG-AT is a modern, Russian prototype training and training aircraft. The prototype flight took place in 1996. The machine is powered by two SNECMA Turbomeca Larzac O4R20 jet engines. The length of the aircraft was 12.01 meters with a wingspan of 10.16 meters. It was possible to install a container with a 23 mm cannon and to carry other suspended weapons weighing up to 2,000 kg.

The MiG-AT was commissioned by the Russian air force, which wanted to obtain an advanced training machine that could replace such planes as the Aero L-29 or L-39 in the line. In order to reduce costs and speed up the design work, it was decided to use the most conventional aerodynamic system and to invite French companies to cooperate, which would primarily provide appropriate aircraft engines. At the same time, however, very modern - as for the 1990s and Russian standards of that time - electronic devices were introduced in the plane. Despite good results in test flights, the MiG-AT lost the fight for Russian aviation orders with the Yak-130 aircraft.
