Leonardo Da Vinci (born in 1452, died in 1519) was undoubtedly one of the most brilliant people of the Renaissance and is widely regarded as one of the most talented people in history. He was not only an exceptionally talented painter, author of such masterpieces as "The Lady with an Ermine" or "The Last Supper", but also an extremely prolific inventor and innovator. No one will be surprised by the statement that Leonardo Da Vinci was interested in all types of mechanisms, including the then timers measuring the passage of time. He also created his own designs of mechanical clocks, dominated by the so-called pendulum clocks. Among them, there is also a timer with two mechanisms, one of which was dedicated to measuring hours, and the other - to measuring minutes. Both were connected with each other by a system of gears and ropes. It is worth adding that the sketch of these pendulum clocks can be found in the so-called The Atlantic Codex, i.e. the collection of notes by Leonardo da Vinci from 1489-1492.
